It is four to twelve years in the future. You have graduated college with a (bachelors, masters, PHD) in your chosen field, have held several part-time jobs and taken internships when able. You are ready for the next step in life: a career job.
Essay will consist of three parts: a Cover Letter, a Resume, and an essay defending your coverletter/resume.
You will pick a real, existing job somewhat related to your field. This should be a career job, full-time–think big. You will create a resume based of years of hypothetical experience which you’ve gained over the course of your degree, then create a cover letter for that resume, applying to the job you’ve picked.
This is a research essay. You will need to research the job for which you’re applying as well as the jobs/internships/degree(s) you have hypothetically done in order to tailor your resume and cover letter for the job you want.
In the third part of the essay, the defense, you will explain to me how you’ve gone about tailoring your essay, arguing for any decisions made by using the research you’ve done. The Works Cited page will appear on this section of the essay (MLA Format).
Each part of the essay will be turned-in in separate assignments.
